:sarc: I'm unable to print emails or web pages.Dialogue box shows 'the internet has stopped working' and no printing information is displayed. It then recovers the tab when the dialog box is closed. Am running IE8,
However can print from library.Have tried disabling firewall and altering Internet options settings. Same with 3 different printers wired and wireless.Have tried resetting internet options.
Any suggestions?

Go into I.E. 8 remove add on if you have any. Set I.E. to default under Advance and see what happens. My understanding is I.E must be your default browser or Windows Live Mail will not work properly.
The next thing I would do is run sfc /scannow. Notice the space between the c and /. It scans your system files for problems. If it finds a problem run it two more times.
How old are your printers and what kind?
Do you use any tune up programs or clean registry programs?
Please fill out you System specs. Take a look in the lower left of my post and it will give you a idea of what we need. You will find it at the top of the page User CP.

what happens if you do a print preview in IE8? can you see the page or the error in the preview?

try this: kb973479

you can probably skip the driver section, try running IE as admin sounds like a good place to start.
