I need help or advice with a printing to pdf problem. I have a business letter with the company logo inserted, and when i print to pdf (I have Adobe Acrobat X Pro installed), there is a strange mismatch in the fonts in the center of the page. I have tried several options in both Word and the pdf printer with no solution. It is not a display problem because it prints. It only happens so far with Word. Strange thing, when I save the file to 2003 doc format, the problem dissapears. If I save back to .docx format, the problem reappears. Also, if I remove all images from the document, the problem goes away, but for obvious reasons I cannot delete the company logo.
I could check the option to save all my files in 2003 format, but then what's the use since I loose all the supposed stability and new functionality of the .docx format.
The problem is not huge but highly annoying since these are presentation documents for a client.

Am I right in the assumption that you use Save as PDF in Word and then print the PDF file?

If yes, you can try this:

1. Use Foxit as PDF reader
2. Save your .docx with doPDF (works like a printer) and go from there.

BTW: Is there any reason that you do not print the .docx document directly ??

I don't save as a pdf. I print it directly to the Acrobat PDF printer. But saving the file as .doc format solves the issue. And, when saving as pdf, the images don't get the high reslution i would like...they get a little blurred. I will try doPDF, but was thinking if there is any option I need to change for it to work with Acrobat.
Thanks,

doPDF worked flawlessly with the original .docx format. Irony is that it is a free application, rather than the expensive Adobe Acrobat, and does the work even better.

Very good. I am glad it did the job for you. But I still do not understand why you do not print the .docx directly from Word - unless you do not have MS Office.

Try saving your .docx file as .doc, then print to PDF from the .doc version.
docx doesn't play well with a number of other programs - I avoid it whenever possible.

There is a better way

File -> save as -> choose .pdf from the dropdown.

Avoid printing as pdf on any MS application.
