hello i'm trying to connect a HP DV5 with atheros AR5007 wireless adapter.
the network i'm trying to connect is with WPA-Personal AES encryption.
but when i try to connect the security type changes automatically to WAP.
with other laptops there are no problem and they recognize the WPA-Personal encryption and connect.

checked the password, its the right password.
tried to select WPA-personal AES in the network settings but still
it says that there is a problem with the key i've input.

this happens on Vista and on 7 build 7100, drivers updated, computer can connect to other routers.

what's going on?

WPA key handshake doesn't work with windows7

Hi,
I too have experienced issues with WPA-personal or other WPA protocol when connecting from windows7 OS to a WPA enabled router.
Changed the router security to WEP, it works !!

Find it hard that Windows missed this thing with vendors like dell and linksys
