Problem installing windows 7

Hello! I once installed ubuntu 10.10 on my hard drive to play around with it and now i want to go back to windows but i can't.I insert my windows 7 install cd press setup windows and i choose the hard drive i had also installed ubuntu 10.10 but it won't let me install it there because it says it needs a NTFS hard drive.I can't click the format option for some reason on that specific hard drive.What can i do?Any help appreciated

Doing a wipe (secure erase) to the Hard Disk Drive is the best course of action but you don't need 3rd party S/W to do it, the Windows 7 installation media will do it natively; have a look at the information below and be sure to post back with any further questions you may have and to keep us informed.
   Information

After you have made backups of everything you care to save and you want to do a real wipe "clean all" to the Hard Disk Drive (HDD) have a look at this tutorial at the link below, it over-writes everything, all the old Windows code including all the old Windows drivers, giving you the best possible space to install Windows 7 to; it goes hand-in-hand with a clean install.

All Linux code must be deleted.As you have had linux on the HD you need do a Clean all & full format.
Try a full clean & full format in command prompt.
1) Boot DVD & Press Shift+F10 (for command prompt)
2) Boot DVD, & http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/682-command-prompt-startup.html

Type in command line
DISKPART
LIST DISK
SELECT DISK # (win HD)
CLEAN ALL
CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY
SELECT PARTITION 1
ACTIVE
FORMAT fs=NTFS
