Problem running Office 97 install in XP Mode

Trying to install MSOffice 97 under Virtual PC XP Mode, but getting error:

Can't run 16-bit Windows Program
Insufficient Memory to run this application.

Have tried both increasing (2048MB) and decreasing (256MB) memory available to XP Mode. Can not find any relevant info though searches I've tried. Hoping someone here can help.

EDIT: I've also tried running the installer under various compatibility modes.

To follow up on what townsbg said, check your XP install - make sure it is 32-bit. If you installed 64-bit XP Mode, then you will never be able to install 16-bit Office 97.

The increased memory (2048 MB) that you made available to XP Mode was a good thing to do. I would continue with that.
