Problem : The selected system image...(a different question)

hi. I want to restore my windows 7 home premium x64 from external HD on my hp laptop which was taken 1 year ago. I used an windows 7 installation disc for restoring which has both 32 and 64 bit windows 7 and both editions. now when selecting the back up then next it says : the selected system image cannot be restored in this recovery environment.
I searched the entire the internet and I read they say that they are trying to restore a 64 bit windows from a 32 bit windows disc but my disc has both 32 and 64 bit windows.
What's the problem?

your search findings are correct
your running 64 bit, but your recovery boot media has 32bit >>>first<<< so it fails.
Your gonna have to get rid of the 32bit version on your recovery disc/hdd
