Having trouble waking up computer from sleep, either placed on sleep from start function or when it goes to sleep by itself from inaction. Have to hard reboot twice, first shows resume widows but is dead, then on
second reboot it comes out with a restore statement to ignore and proceed to reboot. The power button does not work sometimes and have to unplug altogether. This is a recent problem in the last couple of weeks. Please help

Hibernation/ Hybrid sleep is one feature I have never like very much because of the slow wake time,
The only time I have it set to activate is when running on battery.

you have to change the power saving setting by doing following steps
-Right click on desktop
-click on “Personalize”then click on “Screen Saver” icon
-look at the “Power Management” and select “Change power settings” .
-In the new Window you will see “Balanced (recommended)” have link of “Change plan settings”.
- Click the "Change plan settings" link.
-In new window you will have two options. (“Turn off the display”) & “(Put the computer to sleep”.) To avoid from sleep mode change the settings to “Turn off the display: 20 minutes” and “Put the computer to sleep: Never”.
click on "save changes " and then "OK"

Hopefully it will work......

Thanks for the advice. I disabled the sleep option to save power and keep the computer on all the time during the day and shut down overnight.

This solved the problem but in a round about fashion. Evidently the sleep setting is corrupted and apparently is a generic problem with windows seven from what I have searched in Google. Where are the gurus that can pinpoint a true solution if there is one other than disabling the function. thanks...
