Problem when adjusting screen resolution

Not sure how or why it would work in XP as from everything you have posted so far and what the manual says, it is doing exactly what it should be doing when connected via HDMI.

so i had 2 upgrade my graphic card or use VGA 2 get rid this problem?

No you do not need to upgrade your video card, that isn't the cause of the resolution problem, which isn't a problem at all as it is working as intended). and yes using a VGA cable should solve it and open up all resolutions up to the naive 1680x1050 when connected to a computer.

last night i bought a VGA cable and now i can open the native resolution without any problem. The problem is SOLVED now. Thank you any one who have replied th this help and help me solve the problem.

However, last 2 questions: i am planning to upgrade my graphics 2 a 5850 which has no VGA port, will i have the same problem using a HDMI cable?
why my problem didnt occur in XP?

why my problem didnt occur in XP?

It could be down to the differences in the drivers for both, were XP allowed it to happen whereas the Windows 7 driver adheres to spec better. Not that it helps with why it worked in one (were it shouldn't have to begin with) and not the other, but according to the manual for your TV (posted a screen cap of the relevant part a few posts back) on Windows 7 it is working exactly as it should.

Won't be a problem as the card should still come with a DVI-VGA adapter. You can try HDMI again, but if it goes back to the same low resolution you can go back to the adapter (unless you get one of the new Eyefinity 6 models).
