I had a Radeon HD2600 XT and it was NOT compatible with Windows 7. The strangest problem I've seen yet. Any large file transfers caused a BSOD. Multiple installs, clean or upgrade, 32 or 64 bit, and different versions of display drivers. All those combinations caused a BSOD with my graphics card.

This has happened since day 1 of Windows 7 being publicly released.

I figured it out by putting an old ATI 6800 card back in that I had removed when I finally installed Vista SP1. All file transfers worked perfect and Acronis worked as normal. Windows 7 worked perfect except for Aero and my Graphics Score was at 2.0

I upgraded to an ATI HD4830 and all is working perfect.

I'm on 7137 and would be on 7201 if Microsoft hadn't screwed up compatibility with Acronis Backup!

That's odd, I have a Radeon 2600 XT and have not had a single problem with any of the W7 builds, used the ATI drivers and the driver from Windows Update.

If you could attach that file, we could have a look at it to see if it points to a specific driver.

I had problems with a previous build and some flaky video drivers that gave me that bugcheck.

Try removing your current video drivers and either trying the latest (if you haven't) or another 'more known to be stable' set of forceware drivers.

Hello warbytex,

Welcome to Seven Forums.

When you installed, did you allow 7 to check for updates over the internet? I haven't had any problems with any of the 7 builds, but I have had to install nVidia's drivers rather than windows drivers to get everything working correctly prior to the RC. I haven't had any problems yet with the windows WDDM driver in RC7100 or in 7201.

Have you tried windows update to see if there is a driver update for your card.

Hope this helps.

Gary
