Hi!

Can anyone solve this puzzle that i've tried few days without any results:

OS: WIN 7
headset: NOKIA BH-604
here is link for further information of headset if it helps:
http://europe.nokia.com/find-products/ac...set-bh-604
software for communication: Skype

I can use my Nokia BH-604 bluetooth headset normally for listening music or playing etc. but when I start VoIP call with my friend and try to play, I hear only the call. I tried also to play my MP3s during calling my friend but all I heard was the call.

I solved the problem - at least somehow. Now I can hear all the sounds from headset speakers and mic is working too, but the quality of game audio is terrible. Normally the sound quality is really good with my headset when im just listening music or playing without any communication software.

All sounds works with bad quality when I choose "Bluetooth Hands-free audio" (headset icon / mono) for a main device from sound devices list. But I can communicate with my friend and listen the game sounds.

There is other device "Bluetooth audio renderer" (it's stereo - with headphone icon, not headset icon). If I choose this for main device, sound quality is perfect. But then I can't use Skype with my friend.

And I don't really want to use my speakers for sounds, mic gets ALL sounds from speakers while playing and it's not nice for my friends ears while playing.

I hope you guys can understand what I mean. English is not my native language - maybe you've noticed it :)

The way I understand it, different Bluetooth functions require different Bluetooth profiles. For example, the high-fidelity stereo profile is A2DP and the headset profile is HSP.

Your Bluetooth device can operate with only one profile at a time.

I know how you feel, I have a Motorola Rokr Bluetooth headset and I was trying to do the same thing, play an online game and talk to my friends using Teamspeak.

The only options are to accept the low audio quality of the HSP profile or use a different headset. I opted for a wired USB headset by Altec Lansing. The bonus there is that Windows XP and above have the drivers for it built in, just plug it in and it works.

I heard there is somekind of possibility to get bluetooth headset working with better quality also, I hope there really is a way to do that. I'm also wondering, why windows won't install bluetooth service "headset" even i check the box. All other services works like a charm.

Might there be a problem with A2DP drivers or something like that?

Hi there.
I know this thread is pritty old, but I think I have som interesting information regarding your problem.
I my self am in the same situation, I have a MM450-X from sennheiser and the sound quality gets really bad while using the microphone when using eg. skype.

But i got it working when paring with a Toshiba laptop!

Crystal clear sound from games while VoIP through skype with my friends. I noticed that Toshiba uses its own driver and also used there own software.

The bottom line is that it's not the hardware or the bluettoth protocolls or software that is the problem. It is how Microsoft Windows default drivers uses the protocolls.

Any one know how to get the Toshiba drivers and software without owning a Toshiba laptop?

New Info

I have a Sennheiser mm100. When I am in a skype call, the audio quality goes to low quality.

I noticed that if i start a call, and the quality is bad I can hold the connect button for a bit and it beeps and then the quality goes to high.

Unfortunately it looks like this now no longer works and I am not sure what changed. I also have no clue why holding the connect button might make the high quality come on.
