problem with cd-dvd romm asus

when i put a blank cd i get this message:make sure the disc uses a format that windows recognizes. what i have to do?im using windows 7 ultimate x32

Welcome to seven Forums.
First thing I would do is go to the drives manufacturers site ans see if their is a firmware update. If so install it and see if that cures the problem.

Is this message really a problem...might be just a pop-up window. Looks anyway your burning program is working (don't see you mention not working)

Try this:
Your CD drive or DVD drive is missing or is not recognized by Windows or other programs
Your CD or DVD drive can't read or write media
The CD drive or the DVD drive does not work as expected on a computer that you upgraded to Windows Vista
