I was having electrical problems and it was turning my computer off at will. All is well with my pc and power issues now but i have this western digital esternal usb2 1T unit. This unit turns itself on when power was back on, all by itself, and so it got messed up. Now its acting up. When i turn it on it says the hard drive needs formatting but it was formatted and full of files. I also get an error message, something about parameter. Now i am getting a message that says
" L:\ is not accessible.
The volume does not contain a recognized file system.
Please make sure that all required file system drivers are loaded and that the volume is not corrupted."
I cant even remember whats on that drive, hope its all backup but im not sure. So i would like to repair this drive and get at the data. I do have get data back installed but dont have a clue how to operate it. I started it up but its a maze to me.
Also, this drive starts up and shows up in computer and in device management but only for a few minutes and then disappears from both until i turn it off and back on again.
Can anyone help me with this?
thanks
