Problem with icons

Searched the data base but can't find a answer. Some of my program icons have changed to a basic folder icon. What caused this, how do I get them back and prevent it from happening again.

I don't know if article is applicable. My problem is from the desktop with icons changed from the ones provided for Lightroom, Word, QuickTime etc. to a generic icon folder.

Just tried procedure but it didn't help., probably will work for Window's icons ie. computer, recycle bin but not for program icons.

Lost power for the last 8 hours but now am up and running. Just did the scan and came back with no violations.

Try to change the icons size to bigger and then restore the size. To do this right click on desktop-->appearance-->choose whatever you want and then apply... relog and then maybe icons will be fixed. This worked with me, maybe it help you too
