Problem with IE 11 and compatibility with MSN

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on an Asus laptop. According to the techies at MSN there are some compatibilty issues between IE 11 and MSN. Specifically, many of the links on the MSN.com homepage are not accessible, and the calendar is no longer available. I have been able to get the calendar when logged in to Google chrome (calendar.live.com), and the links on the MSN.com homepage are accessible with IE and Google. The MSN techies said the only way to fix the problem was to uninstall IE 11 and then download IE 10. IE is so intertwined with the OS that I'm reluctant to follow any of the multitude of confusing instructions I've found on the internet.

I would appreciate any advice/recommendations as to how to fix this problem

You might see if you may be able to use compatibility view in Internet Explorer for that website to see if it may be able to help have the page load and display properly.

As I said in my original message, the compatibility issue is between MSN and IE 11I don't have any problems linking to any web pages when I'm using IE 11. The issue, according to MSN technical support, is that some features in MSN will not run if you're using IE 11, this includes not being able to link to some web pages on the MSN homepage, and the calender (the calendar icon on the top navigation bar). These features would be available if I were running IE 10. So again, according to MSN tech support, I must uninstall IE 11 and replace it with IE 10. My question is, how do I do this?

Well, it was something to give a try with no harm no foul to see if you may get lucky using compatibility view with only the specific MSN.com site since compatibility view would allow it to run as if it was in IE10 while actually in IE11.

It's up to you if you want to try it or not though.

Your suggestion had no effect

I tried your suggested action, but there was no effect on the issue I described. I'm hoping someone on the forum will advise me how to uninstall IE 11. Although I'm not a fan of MSN's technical support, I believe them when they say the only solution is to return to IE 10, something I cannot do without uninstalling
IE 11. Thanks for your suggestion, but unfortunately, it did not resolve my problem.

I've stepped through your detailed instructions and I will execute them this evening when I have a bit more time. If you will indulge me one more question--after the IE 11 uninstall runs to completion, and I've restarted the computer, then is it okay to download IE 10?

After uninstalling IE11, it should automatically restore the Internet Explorer (ex: IE10) you had previously by default. There would be no need to.
