Re IE8 on Windows 7 build 7600

I've just reinstalled Windows 7. Now, when I right-click in the IE8 icon on the taskbar, the Frequent/Tasks menu pops up but Open New Tab and Start InPrivate Browsing no longer work. Another IE8 icon flashes up briefly on the taskbar but it disappears straight away and nothing else happens.

I've tried disabling all add-ons but no joy.

Any ideas?

Not on its own - I reinstalled Windows and everything else from scratch.

I've discovered it's not just IE8 - Media Player's Jump List tasks don't work either - so it must be a Windows error.

Can we change this thread title to Jump List tasks not working

I've reinstalled everything yet again. Jump list tasks work again now - probably not for long.
