I have a Packard Bell EasyNote TJ65. My problem is that when I click on the Internet Explorer icon on the desktop along the bottom of the screen, the internet does not load properly. The white screen comes up as normal and the timer icon comes on as if its about to load up but nothing happens no matter how long I leave it. However, when I go to the start menu and click on the start button and click on the Internet Explorer (64-Bit) icon the internet works ok, although I dont have flash player. I would like to be able to use the other internet explorer as before. Any help would be greatly appreciated :D

What is your home page? Did you try changing it?

go to Control Panel , then Internet Options. You can change your homepage there. See if that helps.

Cheers.

Even though I change my homepage to something else, such as google, it still doesn't load and then my homepage automatically changes back to www.redirecturls.info/. Could it be that I have a virus on my computer?

That is very possible, or maybe the browser itself needs reinstalled.

would reinstalling the browser be easy to do or should I give it to a computer technician to fox?

I'd probably go to Microsoft downloads and get IE 9, tell it to run it will take out IE 8 and install IE 9

1. Go to start
2. In search box, type cmd , right click cmd.exe, and then click "Run as administrator"
3. Then type:

netsh winsock reset

4. Press enter
5. Restart PC

Hopefully that will fix it
