Problem with ISO

Hi all,

I am currently using Windows 7 Ultimate build 7600 RTM.

I installed the OS for about 3 days already. All the programs work fine, and I was trying to install some programs from an ISO, so i tried to install MagicISO and later, gBurner and then PowerISO. I uninstalled both MagicISO and gBurner because i find PowerISO work better for me.

All the ISO I currently have are all able to use yesterday, but for some reason or another, all my ISOs are unable to mount/burnt/read.

I open it with PowerISO and they prompt a message "The file disc image is invalid or unsupported". I try burning using the in-built ISO burner from Windows 7 they give me a message "The selected disc image is not valid"

but taking the very same few ISOs that I tested on my other computer, they burn/mount and read properly. so why are the ISOs having the same problem in Windows 7? Anyone can kindly share and shed some light on this? Your help is very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I recall a problem being caused by MagicIso on 7. You may not have completely uninstalled it. The remnants after reboot may be interfering with PowerIso.

Try a system restore to a point before you first installed MagicIso.

If no joy, uninstall and reinstall PowerIso.

If that doesn't work, reinstall MagicIso and use Revo to help uninstall it.

I tested MagicIso and also had problems.. in Windows 7.
Never used gburner.
UltraIso and PowerISO work perfect.
I'd try the restore and then use some 3rd party (your chose) and uninstall MagicISO. I use Win7Manager.

check the site and Magiciso claims 5.5(build 276)
works ok in Win 7 they fixed a majority of bugs.

i tried removing poweriso, magiciso and gburner. But still having the same problem. could adobe cs4 be the problem??

yup, i used the 5.5(build 276) but i didn't like it after i found poweriso.
i wanted to do a restore, but unfortunately, there's no restore points to do so. I'm looking for all possiblities now instead of reinstalling the OS

The issues with magic ISO is normally due to a bad uninstall

Try This ...

1. Open regedit

2. Search "MagicISO" and delete any key containing it

3. Search "PNPA000" and do the same as above.

4. Search "ZC855" and do the same but, when you get to the key "Cdrom\Enum\ change the value of Count and of Nextinstance reducing its value by one after deleting the ZC855 on the right (that's the drive of MagicISO)

If you get any messages that you're not allowed to delete any key just right click and go to permissions, then select full control and press ok. After that you should be able to delete it without any problem.

Have you tested the ISO to verify with MD5.
What it sounds like is
1. you are grossly fragmented and other programs can not find all of the ISO.
1a. DEFRAG then test
2. MagicISO-screwed the ISO so it is 100% JUNK.
At this point I would get the latest version of MagicISO
install and see if it can find the correct/complete files.
2a. If NO
3. Delete what you have - they are junk. lost cause.
4. Download the Official Version of Windows 7 again.
Verify by the MD5.
make a copy on a old 4gb Flash drive to save.
I'm sure you can find a VERY GOOD COPY of Official Windows 7 RTM, that can be verified by MD5 or CRC.

Well if you're looking for an all in one program and cant find one that will work sorry, I told you of two different small free programs, If all else is failing.. Why not just compromise?

Corey,

He wants to use PowerIso. It works perfectly on my 7x 64.

If it is not working, there is a problem - possibly caused by MagicIso.

He wants to fix that problem. Finding something else that might do each do half the job wouldn't satisfy me either.

Plus that issue may rear it's head again in a different situation.
