problem with laptop screen

hello i need help. i have laptop model sony vaio vgn-nr31z, the screen of this is not working. actually when i push the on off button of my t pc is seem that is working well but on my screen i cant see anything. propably the nvidia graphic is not working or the motherboard is broken. i tried to connect with a other pc laptop with vga cable but someone told me what i need crossover cable i order to connect. so i have 1) pc with no picture on my screen in order to taste if this pc working and 2) i have an other pc working perfect. please tell me suggestion what i need to do at first to find exactly where is the problem, motherboard graphic card or screen problem?

Do you have a TV with a VGA port or another monitor?

no this is my problem. the outputs of my tv is only hdmi and scart and outputs of my broken pc is wlan , vga , mini usb and normal usb. the scrossover cable isnt support of this problem???
