That's pretty much it, Although I did have an issue with the sound too but I fixed it when I installed VIA Hd Audio, I've never gotten my mic to work however.

I'm using a headset (Turtle Beach X12) The mix definitely does work, I can hear myself talk through my headset.

Sounds like a flakey connection on the front panel. Does the Mic, if plugged into the rear Pink Mic connector do the same thing? If it works OK on the rear, check the audio connection from the front panel that plugs into motherboard. However, it could be the front panel jack assembly that is bad. I had that problem on a new case, fortunately it was in warranty and the case vendor sent me a replacement front panel assembly.

As I asked before, is this with the front or rear panel connections.

If it does it with both, temporarily disconnect the front panel audio connection to the motherboard, and then see if the rear jacks disconnect.
