I recently installed W7 on a Dell Inspiron and the mouse wheel no longer works as it previously did on XP. I tried updating the driver on the mouse but it said it was up to date already. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the mouse working properly again? It says it is a PS/2 Compatible Mouse.

You can get driver for the mouse from Dell, I found this link:Dell - Drivers and Downloads
I did have the same problem in my Acer laptop, I have downloaded the Vista 32bit driver for my Synaptics from
Drivers | Synaptics
Installed the driver without uninstalling the old driver, then adjusted the settings for my touch pad scroll button.
See the attachments for general idea. Could you also give us the exact model.
