Problem with my Fan?

ok so a few days ago my laptop fan started nonstop blowing at full power so i cleaned out the area around the fan and it reduced it slightly, but not to what it was where at idle it was quiet and only when gaming did the fan pick up speed. i'm pretty sure that it started after i updated a bus i don't remember what it was called using slimdriver and CCC. i checked the WTM showing all processes and it shows system Idle Process using between 80 and 83 with system using between 13 and 15. oh and i used Power Efficiency Diag Report and so i updated the BIOS and made sure that all the drivers were updated and than ran it again and it fixed only two of the 19 problems the CPU utilization it claims is high at an average 23.47%, Platform Power Management capabilities:ACPI_PSD object failed validation index 1-7, and USB Suspend:USB Device not entering Suspend for generic USB Hub, USB Root Hub, USB input Device, Dell wireless 370 bluetooth mini-card, and USB Mass Storage Device

its not like my computer is having any major problems other than from an efficancy and maintance problem and i was wondering if it is caused by overclocking i also didn't know where to post this as i don't know the root cause of the problem.

Well the fact that the speed reduced when you cleaned it a bit makes me think that a good cleaning could be in order. I like what another member tried with great success. tape off the vacuum hose to the fan exhaust and then blast compressed air into the intake. Leave the vacuum on for several minutes and will luck you will loosen, dislodge and extract most all of the built up dirt. This beats taking the laptop apart which is an option only for the truly inclined with manual in hand. If this doesn't help than maybe a restore back to a happier fan date will solve the update fan issue. To me it sounds like heat and time for good cleaning.

thanks for responding, however while i don't own a computer vacuum i have tried to remove dust through blowing into the computer to try to force the dust out with no change in the fans intensity. and while the intial attempt to remove dust lessened the fans intensity i'm wondering if dust isn't the issue. the fan did increase just after i updated the bus driver and CCC. as for restoring i tried that however since then i have updated the BIOS thninking that that might help and now when i tried to restore the computer crashed to the point where the majority of the system processes were crashed and the only way i could accesss anything was using the run programme in windows task manager in safe more as most of it was useless and all i did was undo the changes so that option is pretty much out.

No need to use a computer vacuum as the household vac will work just fine. I worry that the dust has just moved down into an even tighter space and is obstructing the air flow to critical components. I have learned from my mistakes of trying too many things when having a problem (just human nature) but when you have success or more failure one has no idea what was the cause ! It sounds like the bios update was successful as a failed bios update will brick the computer. I would go back to square one and try cleaning the intake with compressed air while sealing the house vac to the exhaust side and with the system off and battery out blow that mother out and leave the vacuum on a sucking before you start with the compressed air and even after, also try turning the laptop into various upended positions to encourage the dirt to move out. After doing this then boot the system and report back on what happens. Does anyone of your friends have a full blown air compressor with a concentrating nozzle ?

All right, I used the vacuum on all three-exit ports and all three-entrance ports as well as took the back cover off and vacuumed a bit inside with no change in the intensity of the fan. I am guessing that it is either some system program running in excess or it is a faulty temperature gauge

Sorry to hear that. But at least you know it's clean inside and can move on with one possibility checked off the list. Still no luck with a clean restore point? Then try removing the added programs one at a time with a clean reboot in between.

i figured out what the problem with my fan was "Error Code 3900:0626 other_Thermistor out of range at 0C"
