Solved Problem with my mouse under windows 7

Hello. After I have reinstalled windows 7, I am having odd problems with my mouse. Sometimes, after running some processes, or even when having the computer iddle, the mouse blocks, and either I must wait several seconds for it to start working again or I must unplug it and plug it back. Before I reinstalled windows 7, it worked fine. What should I do?

Try uninstalling and re-installing the mouse driver as follows.

1. Click Start Menu
2. Right Click My Computer/Computer
3. Click Manage
4. Click Device Manager from the list on the left
5. Expand Mice and other pointing devices
6. Right click the mouse
7. Click Uninstall (do not click OK in the dialog box that pops up after hitting Uninstall)
8. Put a tick in Delete driver software for this device (if this option is available, otherwise just hit OK) and hit OK
9. Restart your computer
10. Install the latest driver for the mouse once Windows starts.

Alternatively:

1. Login as an adminstrative user.
2. Click Start Menu
3. Click Control Panel
4. Click Hardware and Sound
5. Click Device Manager (the last link under Devices and Printers)
6. Expand Mice and other pointing devices
7. Right click the mouse
8. Click Uninstall (do not click OK in the dialog box that pops up after hitting Uninstall)
9. Put a tick in Delete driver software for this device (if this option is available, otherwise just hit OK) and hit OK
10. Restart your computer
11. Install the latest driver for the mouse once Windows starts.

You can try the above advice also sometimes Mouses give out a long pause then movement means either it's dying or having serious compatability issues

If it continues test another mouse on the same port to make sure if the mouse reacts fine then you know the reason if it continues it would be a port issue and would advise using a different port or alternitive connection USB for instance

Just giving you a few things to think about ,I have had several situations like that occur and most of the time the mouse was going bad it happens

Reinstalled mouse as i was told, and i will wait for future problems, in case they appear. Forgot to tell that this problem occured a few times per day, so if anything gets wrong, i will post here again. By the way, i am using a PS/2 mouse, not a USB one, so i guess it may have been a problem with a wrong driver maybe. Thanks in advance, and I will post here if this problem occurs again.

This problem still occurs, a few times a day. The mouse blocks, then gets back to normal after 5-10 seconds or if it does not i unplug it from ps/2 slot then plug it again. What should I do?

Please provide us with your Event Viewer administrative logs by following these steps:

1. Click Start Menu
2. Type eventvwr into Search programs and files (do not hit enter)
3. Right click eventvwr.exe and click Run as administrator
4. Expand Custom Views
5. Click Administrative Events
6. Right click Administrative Events
7. Save all Events in Custom View As...
8. Save them in a folder where you will remember which folder and save as Errors.evtx
9. Go to where you saved Errors.evtx
10. Right click Errors.evtx -> send to -> compressed (zipped) folder
11. Upload the .zip file here.

This probably means you need to update your BIOS through your Motherboard site. The BIOS problems may be what are causing your mouse to stop. Also, update all Intel drivers using the Intel® Driver Update Utility

You also have an application error Event ID: 10 and should proceed through the steps in Event ID 10 is logged in the Application log after you install Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 to resolve it.

I went to both sites and followed the steps there. Hope this will finally work. Thanks for help! If mouse problems still occurs, i will post here again

Unfortunately, it still blocks from time to time, either for a few seconds then gets back to normal, either for a longer time, for which i must unplug and plug the mouse cable into ps/2 for it to work. What should i do?

If that does not resolve it, it may be Windows has corrupted files. Run http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html up to three times to fix all errors with Windows. If it comes back with no integrity violations the first time, let us know. If you continue to have errors after a fourth run, also let us know.

Beyond that, you may have to consider replacing the mouse.

Tried all those, with no success. Then, I changed my mouse, and now works fine. I guess after using my optical mouse for 2 years, something must have got wrong inside it. Thanks for help!
