Solved Problem with network connection

Hi, I'm having problems connecting to any network on my desktop PC

It seemed to be working fine last night but this morning it won't access any web pages and i can't get to the 192.168.0.1 page either. I've tried running the troubleshooter which doesn't fix the problem, but at the end says it's because the '"Local Area Conection" doesn't have a valid IP configuration'. I've tried connnecting it to 2 different routers with different internet connections, which doesn't change the problem. I've tried installing a PCI wireless adaptor that i had lying around, and although the adaptor seems to work (detects wireless networks and conects to them with the right passcode) it has the exact same problem. I've tried to do a system restore but it goes to a blue screen pretty much as soon as it starts and doesn't finish.

I bought the computer second hand from ebay about a month and a half ago, although i think it's fairly new and was assembled from parts by a professional company, I installed windows myself as it came only with ubuntu and the windows is OEM version. The only thing i've noticed wrong with it is that every other time i turn the computer on it does a dskchk, and the only thing i can think of that's happened to it is that the weather's been really hot lately and the room it's in is like a sauna, but the CPU temperature doesn't seem particularly extreme.

The only other thing I've notices is that i have Mcaffee installed and it's acting a bit strangely, in that it won't open and windows Action Centre says it's off, but the icon appears in the bottom right bit.

I would really apreciate any help you can offer.

You aren't getting anything from the router of modem here according to your ipconfig.

I would uninstall MacAfee then save the IP-reset file below, unzip and run the file, let it run till your machine reboots. This file will fix winsock, renew your IP, flush the DNS and reset the TCP/IP stack.

You might also try running the sfc/scannow command which should fix or replace any missing files.

You should be able to turn off the disk check.

Tried uninstaling mcaffee and it wouldn't go but it turned out there was a known problem with the hard drive (OCZ vertex plus).

I updated the firmware and re-installed windows, seems fine now and i don't get chkdsk coming up every time i turn it on.
