problem with shortcut

I have a problem in my window 7

when I open any shortcut in my disktop, its open a massege" problem with shortcut".

I have not no idea where it came from and why!!

Can anybody help me with this problem, please

Are you sure the shortcuts that don't work are to a program that you still have on your PC. If the program has been uninstalled the shortcut wont, of course work. A few more details of what exactly you mean would help!

1. make a new shortcut (of anything) and see whether that works.

When you scan your computer with what? I assume you mean this message comes up on every shortcut on your desktop? What anti virus do you run as it sounds like a virus?
