So I have been using my sticky notes until Monday, and when I would click on the sticky note, it would bring up an error saying the name "%windir%\system32\StikyNot.exe" file doe3s not exist. I went to windows, system32 and i can not find the sticky note there. when I click on the file in Accessories and click onto sticky notes, nothing happens.

The notepad accesory. When I go to properties in the sticky note, I can not navigate out of the shortcut screen. it says that
"%windir%\system32\StikyNot.exe" specified in the Target box is not valid. Make sure path and file name are correct.

Help please, the sticky notes are awesome and I want them back

Hi Paulheels, welcome to SevenForums.:)

The issue may be related to corrupted application files. To troubleshoot this kind of issue, I would propose the following suggestions.

1. Initialize Sticky Notes from its source folder. Generally, the default location is C:\Windows\System32\StikyNot.exe.

If you can open Sticky Notes from its source folder, the issue is due to corrupted shortcut icon. If it is the case, you need to delete sticky shortcut icon and create a new one from the source folder and pin it to the Start menu.

Otherwise, please continue with the following step.

2. Open a Command Prompt to run the following command to fix corrupted system files.

1)Click the Start button and type "Command Prompt" in the search box.
2)Right click Command Prompt to run as Administrator.
3)Type: sfc /scannow to scan the whole disk.

Finally should the above not rectify the situation, copy StikyNot.exe from another available Operating System to your current computer.

Hope this helps.;)

V3,
sticky notes is not in the source folder. I have looked numerous times and can not find it. I have scrolled all the way down and back up. I tried the command prompt and scanning the disk and nothing happened. whenever I try to open the program nothing happens, I dont get an error message, just nothing.

Download the file I listed above and install it to your System32 folder.

That should sort out the problem.;)

same problem with Sticky notes

Hi V3xar

Thanks also for your solution to the sticky notes problem. I was just wondering if you knew why the original .exe file would disappear?

I had a problem with a lost StikyNot program and downloaded your file. It runs but strangely I cannot delete any notes. The "X" in the upper corner appears but it doesn't function. The "+" does, oddly. Also, the Ctrl-D command doesnt work either.

I'm running Home Premium 64-bit. I installed your program -- very kind of you to offer it, btw -- into the right directory, I'm sure. And I'm 100% sure that the Windows Table PC features are turned on.

Any thoughts? This has got to be something simple but I'm too simple-minded to figure it out!

Thanks for your help!

Best

Tim
