problem with taskbar/tool bar

i dont know how i can extend my taskbar/tool bar so that it fills up the whole bottom area. please help. i have windows 7.

Have you tried placing your cursor on the right-edge of the Taskbar and when the ⟺ arrow comes up, just dragging it horizontally to the edge of the screen?

I've never seen this. Have you changed windows theme or customized it in a way outside of windows (A downloaded theme perhaps)? Did a program change this?
