Hi,

I'm having a problem with my library which is really annoying, I can't access any of my videos, music and pictures. I have this blank page icon and a library-ms extenction. It just happened, acctually I don't even know what happened, I don't know what I did wrong, I don't even know what kind of a question to post. I uploaded this picture and I hope you see the problem.

Thanks in advance!

It appears something broke the Registry that contains the file association data...
Have you used any software that messes with the Registry?

Well, I did install some programs recently, like Cyberlink Powerdirector 8 (video editing software) but I don't know if it's messing with the regestry, I also installed a patch for a game, but it is installed on a external hard, so maybe that is causing the problem. Is there anyway to fix this?

Thank you very much!

You might try using the command prompt and type in sfc /scannow then hit enter, which should get your files back in order. Unless something you installed is being persistant as it appears to have broken the Library file associations. I can't imagine what else would cause this problem to occur.

I tried the scan, but it didn't help. I also tried downloading "Free Registry Repair" from www.download.cnet.com but that didn't help me either. Do you have any other ideas?
Thank you, really appreciate your help!

Hello Igor, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Are you able to access these files from the user folders in the C:\Users\(user-name) folder location?

See if downloading and merging the library-ms option in the tutorial below may be able to fix this for you if a bad association is the issue. It restores all library folder associations.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Ooo yes sir, you are the man! :)
This worked perfectly, and to answer your question, yes I was able to access the files from the users folder. I still don't know what I did wrong, but I'm glad it is now fixed. Thank you very much!!! :)
