I just upgraded my laptop from Windows 7 basic to Ultimate after doing so my videos were pixelated and blurry at times. I already installed the intel hd graphic drivers. I don't know what the problem is. Somebody help me.
My Computer
OS
Windows 7 x32
CPU
Intel Core i3 380M @ 2.53GHz
Motherboard
Hewlett-Packard 1668
Memory
4.00 GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 532MHz
Graphics Card(s)
Generic PnP Monitor (1366x768@60Hz) Intel(R) HD Graphics
it depends on the quality of the video file, video format and the video codec you are using . Assuming the quality is ok, you may try a codec package that is highly good for any type of video codecs ... that is Shark007's FREE Codec solutions - Windows 7 codecs .

I tried VLC but every time I play it using VLC my windows theme goes to basic i wonder why. It says a running program isn't compatible with certain visual elements of windows

That's really strange !! I was habituated with such a scenario earlier when I was using an Asus motherboard with 2 GBs of RAM .... But when I upgraded to Intel with 4 GBs of RAM, I have never seen it . Even it was never occurred with VLC , coz it is not such a resource hungry application .
Whatever it may be, Can you check one thing ? Go to Explorer > System properties (the second button in the explorer bar, at the right side of the Organize button) and see what is the quantity of your installed memory ?
