Hi, I have a problem with the autolocking function on windows 7. Problem is as follows.

Sometimes I let my computer work unattended while I do other stuff. Windows 7 keeps closing my applications and Automatically locking the user after about 10 minutes.

How do do I turn off the autolocking function so when left unattended the computer remains on the window I have open?

Hey newbie31

Welcome to seven forums

I suspect you mean the computer goes to sleep and requires a password on wake. that is control panel power options

BTW we could use your system specs

Actually I use a notebook Toshiba m65 1.7g centrino chip. I don't think that it was sleeping because it when to the same screen as if I went Start>Shutdown>Lock, but I have changed the power setting so I guess I'll see what happens now.

Start>[little arrow beside Shutdown]>lock.

Yeah but I guess that assumes everyone's config is like yours. mY question was is the computer still running when locked?

The computer is still running, i just goes to the locked screen, and I have to click on the username [enter assword etc] and it logs back in but all applications have been shutdown and whatever was happening has been ended.

OK so do you want it not to sleep/hibernate, or just not to ask for uid and pword?

I want it so it does not sleep, lock or hibernate unless I have clicked it from the start menu.
