Problem with WMP

WMP 12 wont play sound on mpgs (or mepgs) thought visual are fine.

I Have AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual Core processor
2GB Ram
Realtek AC'97 Audio
GA M55 SLI-S4e motherboard
HP 1902 Monitor
Nvidia GeForce 6200 Turbo Charge Video card.

Any cure????

What codec's do you have installed. Audio driver updated?

I have the latest driver from realtek and have tried both shark 007 and CCCP without success. I also tried unistalling and reinstalling WMP. No luck there either. All other files (AVI's WMV's etc play fine with sound) Most frustrating!
