problem with Word 07

Suddenly Word 07 will not work - but Excell etc is fine. Spent 3 hours with help desk on Microsoft for $49. They could not help me. They took over my computer and uninstlled and reinstalled 2 times. Still would not work. I finally used a free uninstall program called 'Revouninstall'. This first uses the programs uninstall and then checks the registry and found approx 4900 entries which it removed almost automatically. Reinstalled Office 07 and everything worked fine. Am still fighting with MS about the charge since they could not help. If additional help is needed contact me - Removed.

One should always use Revo for uninstallation. Next time you have trouble with Word, try this procedure:

- Backup your registry (important)
- Type in regedit into Start/search and press Enter
- Click the arrow next to HKEY_CURRENT_USER then Software then Microsoft then Office then Word
- Right-click Addins and click Rename. Rename it to: oldAddins
- Go back up to Office
- Click the arrow next to 12.0 then Word
- Right-click Data and click Rename. Rename it to: oldData
- Right-click Options and click Rename to: oldOptions
- Go back up to the top of the left pane.
- Click the arrow next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE then Software then Microsoft then Office then Word
- Right-click Addins and click Rename. Rename it to: oldAddins

Once you've done that restart your computer and see if you still have the same issue
