Hello! I am so glad that a forum like this exists!
I purchased a gaming computer on Craigslist about 6 years ago. (right at the launch of Starcraft 2 lol). I finally upgraded it this past winter. Pretty much every internal component other than the PSU was replaced. I deactivated my old copy of windows 7 ultimate that was on it, and when I went to reactivate it on the new SSD with the new components it came up as an OEM license. (apparently these cant be reused on a different machine?) Not a problem. So I put of purchasing a copy because Windows 7 Ultimate was crazy expensive, and I didn't want to mess with re installing it.
I recently purchased a copy of Windows 7 ultimate from a reputable online seller, it did however ship from China. Which makes me nervous. I used the code on the screen on my control panel > system and security > system > Windows activation, and it said that this code is not genuine. I want to make sure that I am doing everything that I can on my end, and not missing something before going back on the seller.

Here is the info I get from MGAD

The pirates have got VERY good at this over the past few years, as the price of equipment for manufacturing the packages drops, and as factories open in less well-policed countries.
