Problems in Windows Live Mail Essential 2011

Dear Jim, I did the steps (which I had followed before too when you first gave them to me). But in order to select the account name in there, I need to press the right mouse and this doesn't select it, it just doesn't do anything, so I think you are right that I may need a repair. Thanks so much for the repair steps, I'll do them and let you know what happens. :) Adela

I don't understand the right mouse part. You should be able to select with the left mouse.

I was hoping to give you some good news. I did a repair and then tried it again, being careful to click the left mouse on the email account name and then ok, and still didn't happen anything.

When I did the repair though and clicked on "Restart", it showed a popup saying "Something unexpected happened and Windows will shut down...". I tried this repair twice and twice it showed this popup, so I believe there must be something more than this repair can solve. :(

But if I need to reinstall the WLM...I'll just have to learn to live with the long list of folders not in alphabetical order as I'm afraid to encounter more problems in the way. lol!

I feel awful having taken so much of your time and kindness, for which THANK YOU a lot! :) Adela

The question of not having the "Move up or down" is beyond me. It should be there, by default, on a mouse right click.

You can sort , with a compromise, by adding a digit to their name, e.g:

1 Accts
2 Bones
3 Specialists
....etc

Hi davehc, sorry I forgot to tell you that I tried your idea which is very good, however...because of those indentations the numerical numbers didn't keep.

Thank you so much for trying to help! :) Adela

ANSWER: I have found that by right clicking each account, there is a "Move Up" and a "Move Down" Option. It took me a long time to arrange my folders myself; but I guess that's what I get for having so many accounts :). It's easier to minimize all the sub folders before you start. I have not tried to arrange the sub folders.

I tried to post this as a quick reply to my own message, but for some reason, I could not type anything in the Quick Reply box. I still think there should be an easier way, but this works. I also left my previous post in tact.

Sigh... I'm having the same problem. I came here hoping to find an answer. I've looked all over for a solution, but there doesn't appear to be one. There really aught to be an EASY way to arrange your E-mail accounts alphabetically. I'm surprised MS didn't think of this. My Move button under folders is grayed out.

I have 27 accounts. There are 2 for each member of my immediate family, one public and one private. (My wife and I have 3 accounts each. The last one is for work associates and contacts.)The public one is for forwards, Registrations, Store Coupons, Social Nitworking, ect... . The private ones are for close friends and family (No forwards or social nitworking allowed.). When the public one starts getting spammed heavily, I delete it and create another. The affected party then informs the people they want to have the new one, in 1 blanket E-mail. I have separate accounts for each businesses I deal with. If my information is shared, I soon know it. I delete the account, and black list the business or organization that shared my info. I also have separate accounts for each web site I run, or work with, and a family trash account. Hokay... So much for the reason I have so many accounts. Nobody probably gives a hoot anyway. On to the meat.

With that many accounts, it's a real pain not to have them in alphabetical order. It seems I'm not the only one that thinks so. (or has more than 10 accounts ;).) The only thing I can think of is to offer the MS feedback link. If enough people give their input, hopefully they will fix the problem. http://mymfe.microsoft.com/Windows%20%207/Feedback.aspx?formID=195
