Solved Problems with an antivirus

Hello. I have an antivirus called Kaspersky PURE. For about 2 months, I have several problems with startup(I mean it is very slow, I can stay even 30 minutes and still it doesn't get to normal). When I disabled this antivirus, anything ran very fast at startup. Then, after 5 minutes of computer running with Kaspersky PURE disabled, I ran it, and in less than a minute, the computer freezed (I couldn't click on anything, the taskbar was blocked, and what I could do was to restart the computer). The problem is that I get this problem every time(well, the startup runs fine with antivirus activated if I let the computer running for about 10 minutes, without pressing on the mouse or keyboard. If i click even once, the system freezes, with the final posibility of restarting computer). Could it be a virus? I tried using online scans, scanning in potential dangerous areas using KPURE, even looked in processes tab for strange names that could denote a virus, but nothing detected so far. Please, can you help me with an idea? Without telling me "Get another virus". Thank you for future replies.

Antivirus checkers hook into the actual operating system in order to work. Some do a better job than others. While we may be able to give you a marginal increase in speed, if you have a lag, you are going to have a lag until you try something else

I don't know how much you like this AV, but if it's causing that many problems in the sys, I would consider getting another AV.

If you really want to keep it, you could always check the error logs and see what problems are popping up in relation to it, then do some research on the errors.

You could give Microsoft Security Essentials a try. It's free, it's good and uses very few resources.

I was thinking to use it, but there is a program included in the antivirus I am using, that can store all my accounts on different sites with a 128 bit encryption, and I don't think microsoft's system has this kind of program. Maybe I am wrong, and in this case, please notify me.

Even norton has a feature to store passwords securely. Norton is also better than kaspersky IMO.

Have you joined Kaspersky forum and searched that problem with them.
I have joined forums that are tied to my AV and firewall and have gotten great help from them. IMO

Hm...then which is the best antivirus(i thought Kaspersky to be the most secure).
Also, I have joined Kaspersky Forums, but there I don't get as much help as I expect(I had problems with a conflict, but still unsolved).

Give this a read & then decide which one you want or trust.

Just be aware, no one single AV gets them all.

One thing i would suggest is check what programs you have starting with windows. But as zigzag already said, this will only help marginally.

If you suspect a virus or malware try a system scan with Malwarebytes.

I think you may have a incompatability/conflict somewhere.
Do you have any other active scanner of any form running as well? Malware, Spyware or other anti-virus?

Only you can protect yourself from AV's!
We all have different AV's and still get an occasional virus or two. That's the internet for you.

I have scaned my system using Malwarebytes, and it had detected 3 Trojan.Fakealert and 1 Malware.Trace, which I removed after scan.
