I just got a new HP laptop with an i7 processor and windows 7 preloaded. I use Quicken and had no problem downloading the latest versionm aand importing my data from my old computer. Problems developed when I tried to register quicken on my new computer or use quicken to access quicken bill paying. After 90 min of of on line chatting with quicken folks they told me that Quicken was not compatible with Explorer 9 and I should uninstall it. Has any one had a problem like this? Is removal of Explorer 9 my only option? What will the consequences be if I remove Explorer 9? Thanks

Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

If you uninstall Internet Explorer 9 the system should automatically revert to Internet Explorer 8.

If you keep being offered IE9 through Windows Updates, just right-click it and choose hide.

Of course, you can always use a browser that IS compatible with Quicken. I'm thinking here of something like Chrome, Firefox or Safari.
