I just installed Windows 7 on my desktop computer that has been in storage for the last 2 years. The only issue I'm having is no sound. I have an Intel D865glc motherboard, 2.8 p4 processor, 1.5 gigs of ram. I checked bios to make sure onboard sound was enabled. When it installed I have some soundmax program, but no sound. I checked the speakers with my laptop and they work fine. I looked at intel's website, and see evidently there is no windows 7 driver support for the board. I tried downloading the realtek '97 codec. I got static sound for any audio that was played (finally got sound but probably not the right driver). Does anybody have any recommendations before I break down and buy a compatible windows 7 sound card?
