problems with wmp

I am having problems deleting files from windows media player.I cant get any file to delete. I am using windows 7 home premium 64 bit. I have gone into programs and features and turned wmp off and on ,No difference. I would like to completely uninstall wmp but am unable to do so. please help, nireman

While you can turn it off it is still technically part of the operating system. There are versions which were released with WMP removed from it as part of anti-trust laws.
