Greetings.
I used a Dell installation disk for windows 7 that Dell supplied as an upgrade to the existing software installed on the Experion system, which upgraded the existing software just fine.
In the past Ive had to reformat the hard drive on the system and reinstall windows using that Dell disk without any issues.
Now I have had to purchase a working hard drive because that original drive malfunctioned and just couldnt be found. When using that Dell Windows 7 disk to install an operating system onto the new drive the installation went perfectly but now upon activating the system ( which is offline since I no longer have internet service ) I accidently entered a different key to activate and got the message that the key was wrong - or something like that. I remembered I had the correct key for the disk taped to the disk holder I keep the disk in so I retried the activation with the correct key and then I get this message "The product key you have entered will not work with this edition of windows 7. You must either run windows setup or enter a Windows 7 Professional product key"
Wow... The key IS a Win7 Pro key... Says it right on the dang disk.
I am supposing that entering the first key has somehow changed my installation?
Do I have to reinstall using the correct key this time or how can I proceed?
Thanx
Oh...p.s.
The activation method does not give me the phone option.
