I have been running Accpac database software at my new job. Recently, it has stopped working on my machine. Normally, it would come up like any other program. It would show the splash screen, then go to the program where it would ask me to log in, all in the center of the screen. Now, it shows the splash screen, then the log in box pops up in the top left of the screen. After I log in, nothing happens. Under task manager it shows that the program is running, but I can't use it, there's nothing there for me to use. Normally, if you mouse over the programs in the task bar, it shows you what the window looks like, but there is now no preview on this program. Our 'computer' guy is at a loss and I am used to my own computer in which I am still using XP. If anyone can offer some advice on how to fix this, it would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Does this database program have a support forum? I would look for that first as the odds are much higher connecting with someone else that uses it on their site. The other thing could be if it uses a service. The service may be disabled or not set to start automatically. Many apps get higher privileges than the current user account by communicating with a service.

As example, Windows indexing service does the indexing for the Windows search. Often the login part of an app will actually run as a service etc..
