hello,

not sure if this is the right thread, but here goes, i recently purchased an upgrade new motherboard, new CPU, memory and Windows 7 installed, unfortunately it hasn't been a smooth purchase, i have connected a N Belkin Adaptor and logitech wireless keyboard and mouse but computer keeps crashes, it freezes "not responding" after a short period it decides to respond....and works....usually happens once per boot up. the computer shop say its belkin adaptor and/or logitech keyboard/mouse. does anybody have any suggestions...please as its becoming really annoying, the computer shop have said that "it passes all of their bench tests" (what ever that means) the computer freezes randomly either on internet or whilst moving files around on desktop..... anbody's help appreciated

thank you

Adam

Ok so the computer was assembled by you.

Did you do a clean install of Windows 7 or an upgrade from XPor Vista?

Did you install softwar for the Belkin or Logitech from CD's that came with the hardware?

Have you seen a Blue Screen (Blue Screen of Death [also known as BSOD]) when the computer freezes?
Or does it always respond and work after an amount of time.

We also need to know what your hardware is you can fill in your system specs here: http://www.sevenforums.com/profile.php?do=extra

If you need help finding particular information you can download Speccy Speccy - System Information - Free Download
Or look at the help provided here: http://www.sevenforums.com/general-discussion/8-forum-rules-please-read.html#post256049

hello,

the computer was assembled in a shop, i'm not sure if Windows 7 was a clean install, the OS was XP so not sure if it would have had to be a clean install.

i have never seen the "blue screen" when PC freezes, 90% of the time after computer freezes it works fine, te 10% i have just turned the computer off before i throw it out the window!!

i have installed software from CD for logitech/Belkin.

thank you

Ok thanks for the info.

A questions:

Did the shop give you a CD for Windows 7?

And something to try to start getting a resolution for issue:

Are you familiar with computers and can get into safe mode: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/69585-safe-mode.html

Go into safe mode and see if the problem shows up while in safe mode.

good work ajm398, that will do for now.

If you get some time, transfer these to the System Specs http://www.sevenforums.com/profile.php?do=extra so they are on your profile.

It will make it easier for anyone looking at thread to quickly see what your system specs are

For going into safe mode use the link I posted to follow the tutorial. If you follow it step by step, you will have no problems. It might help to print it out as well so you have the info in front of you when you do the steps.

If it doesn't happen in safe mode, then this issue is with one of the drivers or software that is installed.

If the problem does hapen in safe mode, then something in Windows or the Hardware is messed up. Determining this will give us a good starting point and we can do specific things for each side to try and fix the problem.

Edit: I have been checking back, but have to go. I will try and check tonight to see if you had any issues. Good luck!
