program stopped working popup

i think this issue started with the last update
when i shut down or start up programs i get a pop up saying the program has stopped working and it all started the same time

so far programs affected

- ms streets and trips 2013
- gom player
- epson printer software
- canon printer software (i think)


programs not affected
- open office
- firefox


also windows snipping tool has not worked at all for a long time, wont open

any ideas ?

i have not yet tried to un/re install these programs, trying to avoid that

Have you got a Restore Point prior to installing the update that you can try?
