Solved Program to "interpret" key strokes, and "convert" them to another?
Program to "interpret" key strokes, and "convert" them to another?
I'm looking for a program capable of interpreting one key and changing it to another, like a middle man. So, in a simple example, output the letter "b" when I push "a". Or in a more complex example, convert things like movements of a joystick into movements of a mouse, or triggers on the joystick which seem to be registered by games as things like "Logitech Joystick button #1", into keystrokes like "w". Hopefully that's understandable?
Thanks for any suggestions,
Tom

There is something extremely advanced that can accomplish all you need and more:
AutoHotkey
It has all the necessary documentation to get you started as well. I use it for a lot of old games.
P.S. That sounded like something off a Sci-Fi film.

I do a bit of ahk myself. If I can chip in my $.02 I recommend you go with the AutoHotkey_L variant. It has true arrays, including associative arrays, objects etc..
