ProgramData - I need Access!

I'm a software developer, and I need access to one of the ProgramData folders.

We have a third party tool that prints labels. Their labels give you the option to include stock images in their settings folder or add your own custom images - as long as they are located in their images folder. Our image is our government issued seal that states that our product is compliant, so we need our image placed there.

However, their images folder is here:

C:\ProgramData\Documents\TKI\Common\Images

I am unable to add images because all of the Documents directory is denied to me.

How do I grant myself, a Domain Admin, access to the Documents directory?

FYI: I found similar posts, but everyone redirected the original poster to how to access the Start Menu. I don't need access to the Start Menu items, so please don't give me that solution.

As a Domain Admin you should be able to grant yourself permission to access and read or write this folder tree. It would be on the Security Tab of the ProgramData folder Properties. If you can't do that, then you may need to make changes to the Security Policies of this machine, or all the machines in your domain if you need to affect many machines. Another plan might be to take ownership of this tree: http://www.intowindows.com/how-to-take-ownership-of-a-folderfile-in-windows-7/ If that doesn't work, I suggest asking this question on one of the MSDN forums.

Or do you need to be addressing this folder from C:\Users\ . . . .?

FYI: Wasn't able to find a Security Tab of the ProgramData folder.

Have you ever tried TotalCommander (Recommend new 5.0)?? Will let you see hidden system files. Use caution please,NOT a toy program.It will let you see and work with hidden files and folders using settings. Also has built-in FTP server which is configurable for network deployment.Install w/ Admin rights.

There is no "Documents" folder in "ProgramData", rather a Junction. Do not change the permissions of Junctions. Instead the location you are looking for is "C:\Users\Public\Documents". And you most certainly should not be changing the permissions of "ProgramData".
