Programs needed on computer

HI, Im new to this forum. My computer is acting up and I have been cleaning up some of my programs that I have installed and dont need or use anymore! I don't want to delete anything im not suppose to so my question is does anyone know what I can get rid of and What I need to keep, I have a lot of stuff like HP games, I know I don't need but things like Muvee Reveal I dont know if I need this or not! If anyone has a general rule of what you need and dont nee Id greatly appreciate it! Thanks in advance.

Sorry, but there's no general rule what's needed and what's not.
If I gave somebody else my box, he'd probably delete half the software I got on it and install another 20 programs he constantly needs while it may suit somebody else's needs almost perfectly.

Basically, you'll need a proper browser, antivirus, a good packer, image viewer and some sort of office package.
Everything else absolutely depends on your individual needs.

After you have copied out or made back-ups of the data you need to save to external media; if you can find an exact Windows version that the PC shipped with you can do a clean install using the activation key on the COA sticker attached to the PC though it may require a robo-call to MS to sort the OEM batch-key.

If you can't find an exact same version, you could use the info in this tutorial to create an "all versions" installer of any version Windows installer, to install using the same method I posted above.

I really just want to know the names of important programs needed to make my program run so I don't delete the wrong ones. I know which ones I use and dont use but im unsure of what a few are.

Anything that you can uninstall is not needed for windows to run.

please install Emsisoft Anti Malware and always scan deep and update once a week, it's a free programm and will find all trojans and virusses
