Hello, I am AWindows7User (Imaginative name, yes). I've read through the internet for a few days now and have found no fix to my problem of that Programs seem to randomly stop responding. These range for IExplorer to World of Warcraft, Skype to Word and even Explorer.
As I stated before, I do not know if there is a fix as of yet so I might as well try here.
I should add that I am a novice when it comes to fixing computers, so pointing at a tutorial when you say to do something would be muchly appricated :)

Thanks.

There are several ways to find what the problem is. The best is to go into event viewer (type eventvwr in search). Go to the windows log>application tab.

You want to look for critical errors (they have red in the left column ).

When you find them you want to look for critical errors that say app hang, app crash, or anything that relates to the problem.

When you find them please note the event ID, and the source codes and tell us what they are.

Thanks for the speedy return -
There's plenty of them, most of them are duplicates though.

Event 1002, Application Hang (running The Sims 3)
Event 1002, Application Hang (running iexplore)
Event 1000, Application Error (Running WoW Launcher)
Event 1002, Application Hang (running wow.exe)
Event 1000, Application Error (Sims 3 again)

The other Event Numbers are: 12305, 63, 100 and 5051, but I don't know what these are.

I've just had a nose around my AV program, McAfee, and turned off the Live Scanning after reading some stuff about it - reckon this'll help my problem at all?

Edit: I've actually sucsessfully loaded up some programs without them going non-responsive! Only time will tell if it fixed it.

Programs not responding

I've been having periodic problems with my system freezing up and generally not responding. I have had to frequently use cntrl/alt/del and sometimes, that doesn't even work. In reading this forum topic, I did try one suggestions. I went to the eventvwr and looked for critical errors under the application tab. Here's what I found with the RED "!":

The first column, the LEVEL column always says "Error"
Source columns reads:
AntiSpyware Service and the (listed 2x) Task says "None"
Application Error Task says 100
Anti Spyware Servce (listed 2x) Task says None
Error (listed 4x) Task says VSS
GIDTB (isted 5x) Task says Driver Monitor
Application error Task says 100
SidebySide Task says none
ID Vault Task says none
Bonjour service (repeated many, many times) Task says none
Error Application hang 101
Error Application hang 1002
Error MsiInstaller none

Hope this helps, this is really frustrating!
