So, ever since I was using my Old Windows XP with 512mb RAM and upgraded to my Windows 7 with 4gb of RAM. I'd put all the Installer Files onto a USB Drive so I didn't have to do download them. For example: iTunes, Flash, Firefox, among others are on the USB Drive so I just click and install without downloading, is this a safer/easier method? I know it's less time consuming, but since I have a lot of programs (15, 20), I was wondering if this was an ok thing to do.

With XP I also kept a lot of installer files and was debating using a flash drive to transfer them. As long as they are current it shouldn't be a problem, but I found most of mine were old and I needed to download them anyway. If you have fast access I would recommend to go ahead and download, otherwise just scan the flashdrive for viruses before installing anything and it should be OK.

Thats the way I do it. I have a bootable windows 7 installer, one with all my drivers on it, one with updates like SP1 and DirectX, one with office on it, and one with my programs on it. I do my whole install from thumbdrives, about the only time I touch a CD or DVD is to install and play a game. I find it very convenient to just update driver and programs as time goes buy. It saves burning a new disk each time a newer version of something comes out. My thumbdrives are color codded so it makes it easy to know whats on what drive without having to plug it in to see.
