Programs turned into text files

My parents forced me to let my little brother use my laptop. He set every program to open in something. Now every program is a lnk file. Help please.

Do you mean that the default file associations are now with a text editor?

If so, you can restore the default associations using this tutorial :

Sorry, I seemed to of said the wrong thing in the first post. Everything is now an lnk file.

OK. Ink files are just shortcuts.

Are these on your Desktop? can you give us a bit more information about which files and in which locations? Perhaps a screencapture or two will be useful too.

Follow the instructions in the link that Golden has provided. It's the EXE extension that needs restoring.

I did what gold's link said but when i logged back in nothing happened. All the exe programs have been converted into lnk files so i can't open any of them. Whenever i try to i just get a screen asking what program to open with. The icons on them all look look like peices of paper with the top right corner folded down. I can't really upload a screenshot in the current state.

Are these Ink files on the Desktop, or inside program Files?
