Hello, everyone!

I just installed Windows 7 and I'm trying to get my computer to duplicate the display onto my projector. It can extend onto the projector fine and it can display only on the projector fine, but when I try to duplicate it only displays on my laptop.

I have a ATI Mobility Radeon X1300.

Thank you in advance,
Fitz

To duplicate displays, both monitors have to be set to the same resolution:

So set your laptops screen to the projectors resolution if you can. Otherwise set both screens to a common resolution.

Windows Vista and Windows 7 by default turn off the external video ports. There are a few ways to turn them on - either by connecting an external monitor/projector before you power on your laptop or by putting your laptop in hibernation, connecting the external display, and then waking up your laptop.

The other options involve right clicking on your desktop, selecting "Personalize" at the bottom, on the left side under "Tasks" click on "Connect to a projector or other external display". This will open the Windows Mobility Center. Here you will find on option to select "Connect Display". This will then activate your external display port and locate the external projector/display and provide you option on how you want to work with the external display - Show Different, Duplicate, ect.

Hope this helps!
