Hello all,

I work on a PC with the following specs. I'm going to promote it, that is, make its performance higher and faster and better than before!

This is my plane:
1- Since my HDD has worked two years until now, and the lifetime of HDDs are limited and low, so I'm going to replace it with a new one, this time, a 1TB.
2- purchasing an SSD drive and install it on the mobo to works along with the new H.D.D
3- Replacing the 4GB RAM with an 8GB one or purchasing another 4GB and install it beside the previous 4GB.
4-Installing Win 7 x64.

Is it the plane you would do it if you were me?
Thanks.

Thanks for the reply.
I want to install the Win 7 on the SSD (to get its advantages for the OS) and use the HDD as a storage for keeping other materials.

What about the cost, cost for upgrade.

Sometimes buying a new PC may worth more than this,

As long as there are sata ports on the motherboard, you don`t have to buy anything.

Maybe a sata data cable if you don`t have one, and you have to have a sata power cable coming from the power supply.

If all your power supply has is 4 pin molex connectors then you buy an adaptor.

You might need a mounting bracket (3.5 -> 2.5) to mount an SSD in a HD bay.
You might need a power cable adapter or extension if your PSU does not have an available SATA power cable that is long enough.

I recently upgraded an old PC to an EVO and needed both.

A mounting bracket is really unnecessary if you don`t have the money, you can just use velcro to put it anywhere you want.

But here`s is an example of a mounting bracket, but you must have an empty drive bay and the power cable must reach the ssd.

BYTECC BRACKET-250 2.5" HDD/SSD Metal Mounting Kit - Newegg.com

Down the road someday you can always put an i5 cpu in it, that will help alot too :D

Post the exact make and model and I will look into it`s upgrade possibilities.

That's an option, depending on the PC case and user preference.
I prefer to not "glue" something, if i can avoid it.
