Hi there! Just wondering what my virtual memory should be, I took a look And it was 3999 MB...
Except I have 4 GB of RAM.
So if I were to use custom settings what should I put it at right now?
ATM I am Using:

Initial Size: 6144 MB
Maximum Size:12288 MB

I read somewhere initial Should be 1.5 times Physical RAM And maximum should be 3 times the amount of Physical RAM. Is this correct?

Hello Matt,

Unless you are just real tight on hard space, I find it best to let your page file (virtual memory) be managed by the system. Especially since you only have 4GB of RAM, and not say 16 GB or more that would cause the page file to take up a lot of hard space.

1024 MB = 1 GB

The 1.5 X RAM is the formula used for the older computers that used to come with 1 or 2 GB of RAM at most. Think back when XP first came out.

Hope this helps, :)

I have so much hard drive space it isn't even funny, So I am not too worried about that :)
I changed it from 6144 to the recommended Amount (what my system recommends to me-5998), And then doubled that and put that in the maximum area, Just rebooted And Do notice I am running a little bit smoother (or maybe its the placebo affect) But only real-time will tell. So thank you for the reply And ill cya around the forums!

If anyone else wants to comment on what they are using I don't mind!
